Is it really free?

Yes. No account, no card, no ads and no watermarks, and nothing is locked behind a paywall. The editor runs in your browser, so it costs us very little to offer.

Do I need an account?

No. Open it and start editing. If you have a Splash Nodes account, signing in lets you keep your Splash AI chats.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Your photos open and are edited in your browser and stay on your computer. If you ask Splash AI something the editor can’t do by itself, your message is sent to our own AI on our own server, but never your photo.

Which browsers work?

Current Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on a computer or tablet. Phones work for quick jobs, but a bigger screen is easier.

Which files can I open?

PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, TIFF and BMP. Photoshop (PSD) files can’t be opened yet.

Can it remove backgrounds?

Not with one click yet. The Magic eraser removes plain backgrounds: click the background and it disappears.

What can Splash AI do here?

Everyday jobs you ask for in plain words, like “make it brighter”, “rotate it left” or “resize it to 800 pixels wide”. It tells you what it will do first, and you can undo it from the chat.
